According to the witness, the Acura sedan was speeding and driving erratically along the westbound lanes of NW 36th Street.  The witness shared the following diagram of the accident.  According to the witness, the driver of the Acura sedan passed her at a high rate of speed when the vehicle began swerving erratically.  It’s unclear if the driver was purposefully driving this way or if the driver had lost control of the Acura sedan.

According to the witness, the Acura first hit the rear of a white van that was driving westbound.  Then, the vehicle crossed the three lanes of westbound NW 36th Street and hit the median.

According to the witness, the Acura sedan went airborne after hitting the median and then crossed into oncoming traffic.  That’s when the Acura hits the eastbound Hyundai and the black Mercedes van.

Fortunately, nobody was killed in this dramatic accident.  It’s also a great example that you can be following all the traffic laws and minding your own business and an erratic driver can come out of nowhere and hit you.

According to VGPD, the driver of the Acura was transferred to Ryder Trauma Center with non life threatening injuries.  Meanwhile, a passenger in the Hyundai Elantra was transported to Jackson West with lacerations to an arm.

As a reminder, it’s important to always wear your seatbelt.  Put the cell phone down and pay attention to the road ahead of you.

Driver carefully out there.
