Thank you! Thank you to everyone who came out to support Blessed Trinity in the inaugural Blessed Trinity Bike Ride for Joy on Saturday, February 6, 2021.
Due to COVID-19, the annual Blessed Trinity Parish Festival was cancelled last year. That cancelled one of the biggest fundraisers for the Church. However, the Blessed Trinity Festival committee, led by Lino and Jenny De La Cruz, didn’t let COVID-19 stop them from creating new ways to raise funds for the Church.

The Festival Committee came through with multiple online solutions including online Bingo, online silent auction, and 50/50 raffle. But there was also demand for an in person event that was family friendly, outdoors, and promoted social distancing. The Committee agreed to host the Blessed Bike Ride. And we are grateful to everyone who helped raise funds to support Blessed Trinity.
We are also very grateful to the Miami Springs Police Department for joining us through the 5.5 mile bike loop. The officers helped keep everyone safe by blocking traffic at key intersections throughout the loop. They weren’t on motorcycles, so they really had to bike hard to go from blocking traffic to passing the whole pack to get to the next intersection. We are incredibly grateful to the team of officers, Lt. Gurney, and Chief Guzman for helping us with this charity event.
Before we began the ride, Father Alfaro shared a few words and then led the group in prayer. Watch the video below.
Then we took advantage of the gorgeous morning and began our ride. Watch video of the full ride below.

Again, we want to thank everyone who participated and helped us with the Bike Ride. Of course, we need to thank the Lord above for keeping everyone safe during the ride and blessing us with a beautiful morning. As you might have noticed, the weather quickly changed about an hour after the bike ride when it turned from clear skies to a complete deluge. Thank you Lord for watching over us and giving us a beautiful morning to support the Church.
God bless you all. We’ll try to do this again next year.
