The City of Miami Springs is looking for a new full time building official.
Highly responsible administrative position as Building & Zoning/Code Enforcement Department
Director
REQUIREMENTS:
MUST BE A CERTIFIED BUILDING OFFICIAL- certified by both the State of Florida
Dept. Of Business & Professional Regulation in the following categories: Standard Bldg.
Code Administrator, Standard Inspector & Standard Plans Examiner and the Miami-Dade
County Board of Rules and Appeals
Working knowledge of the Florida Building Code
Must have administrative and supervisory skills to include budget planning and
preparation as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint or
similar software.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Ability to establish effective
working relationships
Valid current Florida Drivers License.
Bilingual-English/Spanish a plus
AT TIME OF APPLICATION, ALL CANDIDATES MUST SUBMIT CREDENTIALS, REFERENCE LIST,
VALID DRIVERS LICENSE AND SOCIAL SECURITY CARD. VETERANS PREFERENCE WILL BE
GIVEN IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FLORIDA ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, IF DD214 IS PRESENTED
AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.
PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, CANDIDATES WILL BE REQUIRED TO QUALIFY ON ORAL INTERVIEW(S),
EXTENSIVE BACKGROUND CHECK, AND COMPREHENSIVE MEDICAL EXAMINATION TO INCLUDE
DRUG SCREENING.
