Drug overdoses are a clear and present danger to public health, public safety, and national security in the United States. In an effort to stop prescription misuse and opioid addiction before it even begins, the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day encourages people to remove unused drugs from their homes. This action underscores the DEA’s commitment to the safety and health of Americans.
The DEA is dedicated to improving the safety and health of our communities, and one way we can do this is by lowering overdoses and overdose-related fatalities. We are working to further minimize drug-related violence while the community does its part to return unused prescriptions and remove them from danger.
