From Springview Elementary to the National Championship Game, two Miami Springs brothers are taking center stage at the College Football National Championship as members of the University of Miami’s legendary Band of the Hour.

Richard and Ryan

Richard and Ryan Fernandez grew up right here in Miami Springs and both attended Springview Elementary, where their shared love for music first began. Now in college, the brothers pursued that passion all the way to Coral Gables—earning spots in the University of Miami’s marching band.

Thanks to the Miami Hurricanes’ incredible postseason run, the Fernandez brothers have traveled the country performing at some of college football’s biggest stages, including the playoff matchup at Texas A&M, the Cotton Bowl against Ohio State, and the Fiesta Bowl versus Ole Miss.
