Local Miami Springs activist Jaime Petralanda announces his run for the City of Miami Springs Mayor.

Miami Springs Florida … After being encouraged by numerous local leaders, Miami Springs Activist Jaime Petralanda has decided to run for Mayor of Miami Springs. Mr. Petralanda a public school teacher has lived in Miami Springs for 19 years and has a long and distinguished record of service.

A US Navy Veteran who currently teaches at Doral Middle School, Mr. Petralanda also makes time to serve on numerous organizations including the Miami Springs Historical Society, the Curtiss Mansion Inc. Board, Miami Springs River Festival and much more including serving as a director of the Doral Middle School Golf Tournament. Mr. Petralanda was also vocal along with many others in the community in the opposition to the removal of the Australian Pine Trees.

Jaime Petralanda met his wife Maria in High School and they married in 1985 after he returned from the Navy, they moved into Miami Springs in 1991 and raised their two children who are now adults and attending college.

“After having raised my children in such a wonderful community, I want to be able to give others the same opportunity to raise their children in a tranquil and safe environment.” Said Petralanda, adding “Miami Springs is a very special place and I want to help preserve it.”
