The Miami Springs Lions Club is truly a treasure within our community. They are constantly hosting events for the betterment of others.
This past weekend was another example as the Lions Club hosted their annual Miami Springs Waterway Cleanup Event. According to Elizabeth Kourtesis Fisher, president of the Lions Club, the Lions, the Boy Scouts, and others volunteers helped to remove over 300 pounds of trash from the Miami River Canal.
“Lions, Boy Scouts, and community Waterway cleanup 2023! Over 300 lbs of trash removed from our waterways, thanks to all who participated! The winning prizes for the most unusual items found in our waterways were a computer, possibly an urn with Lions on it, and a metal rooster statue. 4 massive tires were part of the largest trash collection prizes and so much more! Thanks Troop 334 and all Lions and community who participated. See you again next year!” – Elizabeth Kourtesis Fisher
