A man was shot at approximately 5:05pm during the evening of Friday, January 10th, at the Parkway Inn Airport Motel on Curtiss Parkway in Miami Springs.
SHOOTER IN CUSTODY
According to Miami Springs Police, the incident appeared to be a domestic situation.
Miami Springs Police only reported that the shooting victim was male. No further description was provided at this time.
Miami Springs Police confirmed that they had the suspect in custody.
THE SHOOTING VICTIM
Miami Springs and Virginia Gardens Police only described the shooting victim as male. According to Virginia Gardens Police, after the victim was shot, a female attempted to drive the victim to a hospital. However, she changed her mind and stopped at the Pizza Hut on NW 36th Street in Virginia Gardens to call 911. That’s where Rescue came and took the victim to Ryder Trauma Center. To clarify earlier media reports, there was no shooting at the Pizza Hut or in Virginia Gardens. The shooting happened at the Parkway Inn.
Miami Springs Police have indicated that the victim was “taken to Ryder Trauma, is in surgery, & expected to be okay.”
