Miami Beach Police reported that an alleged shooting suspect was arrested by Miami Springs Police at the same Extended Stay America Hotel located on Fairway Drive in Miami Springs where Miami-Dade Police Special Response Team killed an alleged armed suspect that was connected to the fatal cop shooting this week.

Hello State of Florida.  Hello Miami-Dade County.  We have a problem here.  And it needs to be addressed with a local bed tax to add more police and enforcement along NW 36th Street.  This crime corridor is loaded with big city crime in a small town.  It’s unacceptable and needs to be addressed.

According to Miami Beach Police, “detectives have located and arrested the subject responsible for the shooting that occurred on July 21st near 8th Street and Michigan Avenue (on Miami Beach).  The subject was taken into custody at a Miami Springs hotel.”

Sheldon Fox from WSVN 7 News reports that the “Miami Beach 7/21 shooting suspect was coincidentally picked up at the same extended stay hotel in Miami Springs, where a robbery suspect was killed by police Tues. Suspect killed was said to be robbery partner of now dead shooter, who killed Miami-Dade PD officer Mon.”

State Senator Bryan Avila is aware of our Hotel crime and bed tax issues.  It’s important that residents voice their concerns with the Governor and other State and County Officials.

  1. All those surprised by what is going on in the 36 Street corridor raise your hand. . . . .Bueller. . . . .Bueller. . . . .Bueller. . . ..
Look at Miami Beach and especially South Beach, what respectful family would bring their kids to this area for vacations.
Drugs, alcohol, prostitution, this is what Miami is becoming known for; open your eyes people, you are not in Mayberry any longer, and BTW, Eastern Airlines is but a memory.
