UPDATE: Report by NBC 6 indicates a decomposing body was pulled from the Miami Canal near North Royal Poinciana Boulevard. According to the report, a the body of a male was pulled from the canal.
Miami-Dade’s Underwater Recovery Team and Crime Scene Investigation Units were on the scene at North Royal Poinciana Boulevard’s Boat Ramp across from the Miami Springs Dog Park near Miami Springs Senior High School.
You could see an empty Miami-Dade Police Boat Trailer at the boat ramp.
While not official, Miami-Dade Police usually only get involved when it involves a homicide investigation. Our early understanding of the situation is that a single body was recovered. However, we are waiting on the Miami-Dade Police Department’s public information office to get back to us to confirm details regarding the identity of the victim.
North Royal Poinciana Boulevard was closed off Monday afternoon on both sides of the High School from Quail Drive to Heron Avenue.
