Miami Springs, FL – The City of Miami Springs invites residents, businesses, and visitors to take part in the Inaugural Curtiss Cup Golf Tournament, a signature event of the City’s Centennial Celebration honoring 100 years of history, community, and tradition.
Scheduled for Friday, June 5, 2026, at the historic Miami Springs Golf & Country Club, the tournament will begin with a 9:00 a.m. breakfast, followed by a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start. The event pays tribute to aviation pioneer and city founder Glenn Curtiss, bringing participants together on the very course where he once played.
A Course Steeped in History
The Miami Springs Golf & Country Club is more than just a golf course—it is a cornerstone of the City’s identity. Originally developed during the 1920s Florida land boom as part of Curtiss’ vision for “Country Club Estates,” the course quickly became a gathering place for residents, visitors, and notable figures of the era.
Over the decades, the course has welcomed a variety of distinguished players, from early aviation pioneers and business leaders to legendary figures in golf. Notable names associated with the course include Sam Snead, Byron Nelson, and Arnold Palmer, along with accomplished amateur and professional golfers who have appreciated its classic design and South Florida charm. At its heart, the course reflects Curtiss’ vision of blending recreation, community, and natural beauty—values that continue to define Miami Springs today.
Playing in the Curtiss Cup offers a rare opportunity to walk the same fairways as Glenn Curtiss himself, while experiencing a course that has remained a beloved local landmark for generations.
