The Miami Springs Senior High Golden Hawks varsity football team kicked off their 2026 campaign in spectacular fashion on Thursday night, August 13, 2026, defeating the Southwest Miami Senior High Eagles with a commanding 47-0 victory!

The preseason Kickoff Classic matchup was played under the lights at Milander Park in Hialeah, serving as a home game for the Golden Hawks. It was an excellent opportunity for the Hawks to shake off the off-season rust, test their roster depth, and fine-tune their plays before the official start of the regular season.

Exhibition Dominance
While preseason Kickoff Classic exhibitions do not count towards the official regular-season standings, the Golden Hawks’ performance sent a strong statement to the rest of Miami-Dade County. The offense found its rhythm early, while the defensive unit consistently frustrated Southwest Miami, allowing only a single touchdown throughout the game.

With students returning for the first day of the 2026–2027 school year on the very same day, this dominant football performance capped off an exciting and energetic week for the Miami Springs community.
It also marks an exciting start to the T.Y. Hilton era at Miami Springs Senior High (ahem) Miami Springs Prep.
