Be careful driving into Miami Springs.  You never know when you might face a confused driver going the wrong way, heading straight towards you.

That was the experience captured on camera entering Miami Springs earlier this week.  You’ll notice the driver of the vehicle on the daschcam turning south onto the incoming bridge from Hialeah at Curtiss Parkway.  That’s when the driver reacts to another vehicle about to enter the bridge going the wrong way.

As you probably know, wrong way accidents are incredibly dangerous.  You add the speed of the vehicle driving the right way to the vehicle driving the wrong way.  For example, say both cars are doing 20 MPH, then the accident becomes the equivalent of a 40 MPH accident.

In this case, you can see the driver with the right of way pulls over to the left lane and slams on the horn to stop the driver attempting to enter the bridge in the wrong direction from continuing.  Fortunately, it appears to have worked as the driver that was heading the wrong way, backed up and turned down Canal Street.  More importantly, nobody was hurt.

Nevertheless, this is a reminder to be careful.  You never know when someone might be driving the wrong way.

P.S.:  We didn’t add the audio as a laugh track.  The dashcam captured the audio of what appears to be an episode of “Que Pasa USA” playing in the background.
