The Miami Springs Police Department announced the arrest of Davin Pierre for allegedly burglarizing a home along the 500 block of Lee Drive on Friday, September 16th. According to the release, Miami Springs Police Officers responded to a burglary in progress. The officers were advised by a male victim at the residence that the victim had made eye contact with the suspect in the victim’s backyard. According to Police, once the suspect saw the resident, the suspect took a “bottle of alcohol and shoes belong to the victim and fled.” According to Miami Springs Police, the suspect fled by jumping over a neighbor’s fend and then entered an unlocked exterior laundry room.
Miami Springs Police Officers contacted the resident living in the second home (the neighbor’s house). The neighbor was inside the residence and was able to provide Miami Springs Police Officers with a key to the laundry room. Miami Springs Police then attempted to secure the suspect from the exterior laundry room. Police allege that the suspect refused to exit the laundry room. Furthermore, police allege that the suspect held onto the door handle preventing officers from unlocking the door with the key. At that point, the Miami Springs Police Officers had to forcibly open the door to gain entry. Upon entry, the suspect, identified as 36-year-old Davin Pierre, was placed into custody without incident.
Pierre was charged with:
- (2) counts of burglary of an occupied dwelling/doe (felony)
- Resisting arrest without violence (misdemeanor)
