Do you still call our football stadium Joe Robbie? The stadium has had 9 name changes in 37 years and some of us stubbornly still cling to that original name. It seemed like there was a name change every couple of years, but the Hard Rock blew them all away with an 18-year deal starting back in 2016.  Organizations pay for the privilege of having their name emblazoned on a significant structure.

Bayer Aspirin pays 25 million dollars a year to have its name on a stadium. Mecedes Benz pays 9 million per year for the next 27 years in Atlanta for a total of a quarter of a BILLION dollars. Even if your home’s value has increased a ton here, you don’t have to pay that much to have your family’s name attached to a local historical building

Naming rights have come to Miami Springs! If you live on Glenn Way, Hammond Drive or Curtiss Parkway, you know they were named after our town’s founder, Glenn Hammond Curtiss.

In our historic town sits the home of aviation pioneer, innovative inventor, unsung hero and developer of three cities, Glenn Curtiss. Curtiss Mansion is one of the 7 original homes built around our historic golf course. Help us celebrate the 100th anniversary of our town in 2026! Get in on the naming rights carousel. Our Senior Community Center has gotten sponsors for its various activity rooms and now the Curtiss Mansion makes this opportunity available to all.

In the beginning of the Curtiss Mansion sponsorship opportunities, we added our names to the bricks in the courtyard. It’s a large patio and there are enough un-named bricks left to have the entire town’s names etched, which will be permanent until the southern end of the peninsula we call Florida is once again claimed by the ocean. At that point you’ll have to dive down a few feet to read the names of your family and friends.

None of the rooms in the 14,700 square foot Glenn Curtiss mansion are named. Why should we docents just call it ‘Glenn’s living room’ when your family’s name can be emblazoned there on a plaque for all to see. Link up and secure your place in our history. These annual investments help secure our town’s legacy for future residents and visitors and could make for a wonderful surprise when one of the areas is named after a rich cousin who’s visiting.

So, when relatives visit for a quick trip away from the cold, and they see your name on the wall plaque, you’ll all enjoy a new level of esteem for Miami Springs and our town’s unique history.
