MONTH OVER MONTH CRIME STATS:
ASSAULTS:
There were six reported incidents of assault. Five of which were Simple Assault and Battery and one physical harm threat.
SEXUAL ASSAULT:
There was one reported incident of sexual battery that occurred on the 3400 block of LeJeune Road on October 8th at around 8am.
BREAKING AND ENTERING:
There were 7 reported incidents of Breaking and Entering in October, or up 75%. That included three incidents of residential burglary in the Bird Section of Miami Springs. The first occurred on October 10th in the 700 block of Oriole Avenue. The second was on October 8th in the 200 block of Miami Springs Avenue. Finally, the 3rd residential burglary incident was reported to have occurred on October 19th on the 1100 block of Thrush Avenue.
PROPERTY CRIMES
There were 3 reported incidents of criminal mischief property crimes during the month of October. That’s slightly up from the usual 1 or 2 per month.
VEHICULAR BURGLARIES
Vehicle burglaries were down 14% last month (compared to September) with 18 reported incidents. Five vehicular burglaries occurred on NW 36 Street. 4 occurred on East Drive. 3 occurred on Miller Drive. 2 occurred on South Royal Poinciana Boulevard.
STOLEN CARS
There were 4 cars stolen in Miami Springs in October or the lowest number in the last 4 months.
