Please pray for Miami-Dade Police Officer, Matt Larsh, who is undergoing surgery and is in critical condition.  Here’s an update from NBC 6 Miami:

More local coverage:

UPDATE:  11AM

The westbound lanes of NW 36th Street have now re-opened.  The eastbound lanes remain closed until further notice.

Miami Springs, Florida 7:40am:

Avoid NW 36th Street this morning.  NW 36th Street is shut down between South Drive and Curtiss Parkway due to an officer involved accident.  The officer has been transported to the hospital but the area is still closed as officers investigate the scene.

At this point, we don’t know if it’s a Miami Springs Officer or an officer from another agency.  We’ll keep you posted as the story develops.

Either way, we pray for a speedy recovery for the officer.

In the meantime, seek an alternate route.  Note: Internal Miami Springs roads will be clogged due to the road closure.  Please be patient and drive carefully.

UPDATE 8am:

We have learned that the officer involved in the accident is a Miami-Dade Police Motorcycle Officer.  The officer was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.  Again, we pray for a speedy recovery for this officer.
