According to the City of Miami Springs, the property at 211 Deer Run has been removed from the Air BNB platform. According to the City, Air BNB is interested in eliminating any “nuisance” properties.
As you probably already know, Miami Springs homes are being rented out for weekend parties. We had found the home at 211 Deer Run, located at Deer Run and Curtiss Parkway listed online as hosting up to 16 people for 3 nights for $2,049.
On Monday, the City of Miami Springs had a council meeting where several residents spoke out to complain about the parties at the Air BNB rentals. The city also had the first reading of an ordinance that would require Short Term rentals to register with the city. The ordinance would also impose new rules on these short term vacation rentals.
NOTE: Though the property is no longer on Air BNB, there are other short term rental management companies. Clearly the property owner was enjoying income from the short term rental business and they may seek an alternative to Air BNB to continue their operation. Alternatives include VRBO, Booking.com, the Plum Guide, and others.
