The Miami Herald is reporting that a prominent Miami Springs resident, Dr. Jennifer Wright, was arrested for allegedly committing battery on a man and then vandalizing his car at a Hialeah Publix. According to the report, Dr. Wright “has been charged with criminal mischief, tampering with a victim and battery with prejudice, a ‘hate crime’ enhancement that upgraded the charge to a felony.”
The incident was alleged to have started over a social distancing conflict.
The Miami Herald was not able reach Dr. Wright to get her side of the story.
According to Miami-Dade County Public Records, she was released after posting a $1,000 bond. Miami-Dade County’s accessible public records seem to indicate this was a 1st time offense for Dr. Wright.
