Miami Springs Police announced the arrest of Yelena Blanca for allegedly stealing Amazon packages from the front porches of Miami Springs residents.

Miami Springs Police allege that the following photo shows Ms. Blanca stealing a package from a Miami Springs residence on July 8th.

It’s great to see Miami Springs Police Detectives make an arrest in this case in less than 30 days.

However, she wasn’t the only one being charged.  Miami Springs Police also charged Yaslan Cordero as an accomplice.  He is alleged to be the getaway driver during the porch piracy.

Luckily the police didn’t have to look hard for Cordero.  According to MSPD, Cordero was already in custody for several burglaries.

MSPD shared the “perp walk” photos on social media.

Hopefully, this will discourage others from even thinking of porch piracy or any other crime within the City of Miami Springs.

We want to thank the Miami Springs Police Officers and Detectives for their hard work and keeping Miami Springs a safe and wonderful place to live.

Folks, if you see something, say something.  In other words, if you see something suspicious, you don’t have to wait.  Call the Miami Springs Police Department at 305.888.9711.

Interestingly enough, we recently received the following photos of a slender woman with a large hat, backpack, and gloves walking on the driveways of neighboring homes.

Was she dropping off flyers?  No.  Was she leaving a business card for business?  No.

Why was this woman walking along neighboring driveways and looking at front porches?  Was she scoping for opportunity?

Is this also Yelena Blanco? She shares the same slender build and dark hair.  She had a large hat that can conceal photo identity.  She had gloves that could conceal fingerprints.  And she had a backpack that could conceal stolen packages?

These photos were taken on Tuesday, July 16th at approximately 9:15 am in the Bird Section of Miami Springs.  That’s just two days prior to the announcement of the arrest of Yelena Blanco.

Fortunately, for these neighbors, the suspicious character caught on camera did not steal anything from their front porch.  But it goes to show how we must stay vigilant.  It also shows the power of having a surveillance camera.

Again, if you see anything suspicious, please contact Miami Springs Police at 305.888.9711.
