Miami-Dade County Public Schools Board Member and Miami Springs resident, Dan Espino, posted the following disturbing message on social media. It stated:
We received reports concerning allegations about a substitute teacher involved in a physical altercation with a student in Miami Springs Middle School. Miami-Dade County Public School is aware, and an investigation is underway by Miami-Dade School Police.
This person is no longer allowed to work in any capacity within the District.
Student and staff safety is our top priority. M-DCPS remains committed to providing a secure environment for all.
According to a WSVN 7 report, the substitute teacher is accused of threatening students with a belt and actually hitting a student with a belt.
