Back in 2022, we reported on the murder of Julio Gonzalez at the Aladdin Motel in Miami Springs. According to Miami-Dade Police, Gonzalez was killed at the Aladdin Hotel located at 901 South Royal Poinciana Boulevard in Miami Springs on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at approximately 9:30 am.
Now, after 17 months, police have arrested Jimmy Sanchez and charged him with first degree murder. Sanchez is being held at TGK with no bond.
According to WPLG Local 10, Sanchez is suspected of being a member of the Sinoloa Drug Cartel and was arrested near the US – Mexico border.
The Local 10 Report claims that Sanchez met with Tsvia Kol, the “ex-wife of Wilfredo Nunes Gallardo, another high-ranking member of the Sinaloa cartel” in Hallandale.
The report then alleges that Tsvia Koi and the murder victim, Julio Gonzalez, had arranged to meet at the Aladdin Motel. That’s where Jimmy Sanchez is alleged to have surprised Gonzalez and killed him in what is described as an execution style murder. We recommend you read the full WPLG report.
Of course, there’s no secret, the Aladdin Hotel promotes itself as a sex motel. That naturally attracts pimps, prostitution, drugs, and other criminal activities. To this day, it still boggles the mind how this was ever allowed to open in Miami Springs. And then folks wonder why we don’t always trust our government officials.
Let’s stick to the facts and stop editorializing. Back when it was announced that the Aladdin hotel would be opening, the City Council and the City Manager vigorously opposed it and fought it. They were advised by City Attorney Jan Seiden, in consultation with outside counsel, that the City had no legal recourse, that fighting the issue would require considerable expenditure for legal expenses, and that ultimately the City would not prevail in any legal action to prohibit its opening.
