It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.  No.  It’s not snowing in Miami.  Heck, it’s not even cool with high temps firmly in the 80s so far this December.  But the warm weather doesn’t stop the beauty of Christmas from entering the hearts of our beautiful community.

Westward Drive

Special thanks to Hialeah Miami Springs Rotary Club and The Leonard Real Estate Group for the addition of beautiful Christmas Trees to Westward Drive.  That’s in addition to the lights they donated that were installed by Miami Springs Public Works on the Oak Trees along Westward Drive.  It truly adds to the growing number of Christmas decorations that make our town so special. Thank you guys for doing it.  Westward has never had more Christmas spirit.  Great job!

Miami Springs Circle

Of course, the center of town is all lit up in Christmas decorations.  The Gazebo has the red bows and Christmas lights in various colors.  Plus, the white lights on the roof of the Gazebo help to illuminate the Curtiss Jenny Weather Vane fixed atop.

We love seeing the hedges next to the seal of the City of Miami Springs at the entrance to our community lit up in festive Green and Red.

The entire Circle shines brightly this time of year.  We love how beautiful it becomes with all the oak trees lit up in green and white.

And we also have the tall Christmas tree at the edge of Stadnik Way lit up in various colors and adorned with a beautiful star at the top.

Christmas on the Circle Event

The annual Holiday event on the Circle was a huge hit drawing a big crowd of kids from across the area.  There was hardly a parking spot to be found up and down Westward.  And the kids, parents, and grandparents were enjoying the festivities including pictures with Santa.

South Florida kids might be able to go tubing and water skiing in December.  But sledding on ice isn’t going to happen naturally.  That’s why there was a huge line of kids waiting their turn to sled on the ice slopes setup on the Circle.  The Parks and Recreation Team was in full force making sure kids were having a great time and keeping the ice slope in consistent working order.

  1. So nice to see the Christmas decorations. I remember as a child riding with my parents around the Springs seeing all the decorated houses. These pictures bring back great memories of the
place I am always proud to claim as my “hometown.” Merry Christmas and a great New Year to
the good people of a great town.-B
