Miami Springs / Virginia Gardens is officially under a Tropical Storm Watch. A Tropical Storm Watch means that tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch area, generally within 48 hours.
Hurricane Milton is a Catastrophic and Life Threatening Category 5 Storm with maximum sustained winds of 180 MPH.
The forecast for Milton is to make landfall with the west coast of Florida sometime between late Wednesday and early Thursday.
The storm is still predicted to make a turn north towards the Tampa area.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools will CLOSE on Wednesday. There is school tomorrow. There will not be school on Wednesday. The district has not announced when it will reopen.
