The Miami Springs City Council voted unanimously to add two additional intersections to its automated red light camera enforcement. The two additional intersections are as follows:
- 36th Street and East Drive
- 36th Street and Sheridan Drive
36th Street and East Drive

According to a memo from the Miami Springs Police Department, a study of traffic incidents at the intersection of NW 36th Street and East Drive from January 1, 2023 to May 31, 2025 revealed the following:
- 28 total traffic crashes
- 5 crashes that resulted in injury
- 2 hit-and-run traffic crashes
- 193 traffic stops conducted in the area
- 2 traffic-related arrests
- 2 documented traffic hazards
- 12 disabled vehicles requiring response
36th Street and Sheridan Drive

According to the same memo, it revealed the following concerns about the intersection at NW 36th Street and Sheridan Drive:
- Red Light Camera Enforcement Data (July 9, 2024 to July 9, 2025):
- Total citations issued: 4,334 (westbound traffic currently enforced)
- From January 1, 2023 to July 10, 2025:
- 20 total traffic crashes
- 5 crashes that resulted in injury
- 3 hit-and-run traffic crashes
- 229 traffic stops conducted in the area
- 4 traffic-related arrests
- 2 traffic hazards
- 5 disabled vehicles
