The City Council of the City of Miami Springs voted in favor of a new recreational vehicle ordinance at Monday night’s City Council Meeting. Here are some of the key takeaways:
- Recreational Vehicles include RVs and motorhomes, but also boats, golf carts, LSVs, and other non-commercial vehicles.
- RVs must be parked in the backyard and/or side yard.
- You can connect electrical to an RV or camper
- You can park your boat or RV in the front yard for no more than a 24 hours in a 48 hour period. (This is to allow loading, cleaning, and trip preparation.)
- The maximum number of Recreational Vehicles allowed in a home is four (4).
- The maximum number of Recreational Vehicles with sleeping accommodations (aka Motorhomes, Campers, etc.) is two (2).
- RVs must be owned or leased by the owner or tenant of the property.
- Fines will be $250 for first violations and $500 for second and subsequent violations.
