After more than a decade of hard work from people like Rob Youngs and Jim Borgmann, annexation has come to an abrupt end. According to an article published by the Miami Herald, the Miami-Dade commission blocked the deal to allow Miami Springs, Virginia Gardens, Medley, and Doral to annex portions of the unincorporated area that separates Miami Springs and VG from Doral.
Mayor Garcia was quoted in the article as saying, “If this dies here on the table, it`s over 12 years of work.”
