WalletHub released a report where it ranked our sister city and neighbor, Hialeah, as the 53rd safest city in the nation.  A deeper look at the report and Hialeah actually ranked as the 11th safest for Home and Community Safety.  It ranked 116th for Natural Disaster Rank (duh…Hurricane Country.) And it ranked 174th for Financial Safety Ranking.  (Also, not a surprise.)

You might be thinking, isn’t Miami Springs a safer and quieter community?  Why didn’t we beat out the City of Hialeah?

Well, the report compared 182 cities, including 150 which were the most populated cities in the country.  The report also included at least two of the most populated cities from each state.  Miami Springs has over 14,000 residents, so clearly, it was not included in this national study.

Nevertheless, the City of Hialeah is incredibly important to Miami Springs residents.  Many residents work in Hialeah.  Others go to school in Hialeah.  Nearly all of us, shop, dine, or at minimum, travel through Hialeah.  So, it’s great to know that our neighbor is ranking nationally as the 11th safest for Home and Community Safety.
