It’s official. The Miami Springs Police Department passes the baton from our retiring homegrown Police Chief, Jimmy Deal, to our new homegrown Police Chief, Matthew Castillo.
Born and raised right here in Miami Springs, Chief Castillo graduated from Miami Springs Senior High then went on to receive a finance degree from Florida International University, where he was a member of their inaugural football team. Chief Castillo began his journey with the department in 2009 as a Public Service Aide (PSA). Over the years, his dedication and hard work have led him through the ranks—serving as a Police Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and now Chief.
Join us in congratulating Chief Castillo on this well-deserved promotion! We are excited for the future under his leadership and proud to have one of our own guiding our department.
God bless Chief Matthew Castillo and the Miami Springs Police Department!
