- Lateral hires for applicants with prior full-time Law Enforcement experience
- 2 – 4 years of previous experience (Step 2 of 8) starting salary of $55,104
- 4 – 6 years of previous experience (Step 3 of 8) starting salary of $57,924
- 6+ years of previous experience (Step 4 of 8) starting salary of $60,799

Police Officer Requirements:
- At least 19 years of age
- U.S. Citizen
- Valid FL driver’s license with good driving record
- High School Diploma/GED
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Police Applicants must pass:
- Physical Agility Test & Swim Test
- Written Examination
- Oral Examination
- Computer Voice Stress Analysis
- Thorough background investigation
- Medical Examination including drug screening
Public Service Aide Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age
- U.S. Citizen
- Valid FL driver’s license with good driving record
- High School Diploma/GED
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be dedicated to pursuing a college degree related to Law Enforcement
Public Service Aide Applicants Must Pass:
- Test of Adult Basic Education (T.A.B.E.) by scoring at least a 10th grade level in all areas
- Physical Agility Test & Swim Test
- Oral Examination
- Computer Voice Stress Analysis
- Thorough background investigation
- Medical Examination including drug screening
