The passing of beloved Village of Virginia Gardens councilman, Richard Block, left an open seat on the Village Council. The Village Mayor, Spencer Deno IV, filled the seat by appointing Virginia Gardens resident, Michael Tur.
Michael Tur was sworn in on February 19, 2026. According to a social media post by the Village of Virginia Gardens, “Mayor Deno expressed his confidence in Michael, knowing he will continue to do great things for our Village and community.”
At the swearing in ceremony, Michael was joined by his wife Lorena, mother, sister, family, and friends, along with representatives for the City of Miami Springs, the City of Hialeah, and the Miami-Dade County School Board.
