The Miami Springs Police Department showed off the new livery for Miami Springs Police Vehicles. We love the return of the classic red, white, and blue back to Miami Springs Police Vehicles.

We especially love the prominent blue pattern towards the rear of the vehicle.

The example shown here is a Dodge Durango Police SUV. The front of the vehicle is almost completely white. The roof is also completely white which helps to keep the passenger compartment cool in the brutal Miami Springs sunshine.

The red stripe is a modern twist to what some of the police cruisers used to have in the late ’90s.

As a car fan, I gotta say this is the nicest livery Miami Springs Police have ever had. And I think Miami Springs residents will be proud to see these cruisers in action around town.

Miami Springs Police Vehicles Through the Years
The new Miami Springs Police Vehicle livery made us think of some of the different versions we’ve captured on camera over the years.
Let’s take a look back.
MIAMI SPRINGS STEALTH SUV (2024)
At a glance, it looks like just a black SUV, but take a closer look and you’ll notice it actually says POLICE along the doors.

BLUE AND WHITE MIAMI SPRINGS POLICE VEHICLES
(2016 – 2025)
Former Miami Springs Police Chief Guzman switched the police vehicles from red, white, and blue to just the white and blue graphics you see below.
Interestingly, white and blue are the colors used by the City of Miami Police Department, which was Guzman’s prior department.

Miami Springs Blue and White Dodge Chargers
Miami Springs Police Chevy Tahoes
The Tahoes looked good, but were somewhat controversial as overkill for the small Miami Springs Police Department. While it’s become common to see Police SUVs this century, including Durangos and Ford Explorers, the gas guzzling Tahoes just appear to be overkill for our budget strapped small police department.

RED, WHITE AND BLUE
(1990s – 2016)
Prior to the blue and white graphics, Miami Springs had red, white and blue graphics for a few decades.

Miami Springs Police Ford Interceptor / Crown Victoria
The Ford Crown Victoria was one of the best, if not the best, police vehicles ever made. It had Ford’s incredibly reliable 4.6 liter V8 in a classic body on frame construction. They were among the safest, most reliable, longest lasting police vehicles ever created.

Below, is a rare photo of 1990s Miami Springs Police Chevrolet Caprice Police Package. As you can see, it was common for the department to leave a vehicle on the Circle to help slow down incoming traffic.

Before the modern SUV, Miami Springs Police had a Police Station Wagon seen in the photo below:
