The City of Miami Springs announced the passing of retired Miami Springs Police Officer, the legend, Don Mazzone.
Don Mazzone built his legendary reputation as a strict traffic enforcer as part of the Miami Springs Motor Unit.
The Miami Springs Police Department shared the following message on social media:
Miami Springs PD mourns the passing of a true legend — Retired Commander Don Mazzone.
His journey in law enforcement began in 1965 as a reserve officer with Hialeah PD, before joining Miami Springs, where he rose from motorcycle officer to commander. Don dedicated his life to serving and protecting our community. Known for the fear he struck into speeders and the respect he earned from all, his presence was unforgettable. Even after more than 20 years of retirement, people still ask about him — a testament to the lasting impact he had on Miami Springs.
