Senator Bryan Avila and Representative Alex Rizo recently came before the Miami Springs City Council to share some of their many accomplishments during the most recent legislative session in Tallahassee.
Some of the highlights featured include:
- $116 Billion Budget
- 1,000 – 1,200 residents migrating to Florida from other states every day
- Record Tax Relief Package
- $635 Million for Workforce Education
- Florida’s GDP has surpassed a Trillion Dollars
- If Florida were a country, it would be the 15th largest economy in the world (according to Senator Bryan Avila)
- $711 Million for Affordable Housing
- $1.6 Billion for Everglades Restoration and Water Quality
- $1.1 Billion in raises for new and veteran teachers
- $191 Million in Cancer Research and Care
- $2 Million for the University of Miami Cancer Care for firefighters
- Almost $1 Million in funding for Meals for Elderly Residents in Miami Springs and Virginia Gardens
