Breaking News:  14 prominent Miami Springs residents arrested.

The shocking arrests include politicians, community activists, and business people.  Here’s the list of prominent Miami Springs residents that were arrested:

14 Prominent Miami Springs Residents Arrested

CHARGES:  The Good News is that these residents were charged with doing good for the Miami Springs Community.  You see they were arrested for a great cause.  The Miami Springs Police Department joined forces with the Miami Springs Woman’s Club to “arrest” these prominent residents who agreed to participate and support the Woman’s Club.

Here’s how it works:

The volunteers were “arrested” by the Miami Springs Police Department and booked by a judge at the Miami Springs Woman’s Club.  Each suspect was booked, photographed, processed, and charged during the arraignment.  Furthermore, the judge at the arraignment set the bail for each suspect.

SebastianStrong Foundation

The SebastianStrong Foundation was created in honor of Sebastian Ortiz, a young Miami Springs resident and cross country runner who fell victim to childhood cancer.  The SebastianStrong Foundation knows that we can do better for kids with cancer.  They’re on a mission to improve upon decades-old, highly toxic, and often ineffective treatments.

“Our core purpose is to find more targeted, less toxic treatments for pediatric cancers while easing the burdens kids and families face.

We fund early stage, cutting edge research through our annual Discovery Science Award. To date, we’ve granted over $2M for pediatric cancer research at institutions including Yale, University of Colorado, Albert Einstein Medical College, Johns Hopkins, and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. To best determine what research projects to fund, we work closely with our medical advisory board, which is comprised of some of the top pediatric cancer doctors in the country.

Our approach is to focus on promising research that would not be funded otherwise. We do so through collaboration with leading researchers and other childhood cancer foundations. We strive to deliver hope for children and families facing a cancer diagnosis.”

Chad Tough Foundation

The Chad Tough Foundation was setup in honor of Chad Carr, the youngest son of Miami Springs Senior High Alum, Tammi Carr, and the grandson of the publisher of The River Cities Gazette, Tom Curtis.  Chad was just 5 years old when he passed away from DIPG or diffuse intrinsic pontine giloma.

The Chad Tough Foundation’s is “in the fight for a DIPG/DMG cure, we help patients and families by funding game-changing research and providing navigation throughout their journey.”

“We see a world where kids diagnosed with DIPG/DMG can have bright futures and can live out their dreams.”

Can you help?

As you can see, the Miami Springs Woman’s Club has joined forces with two of the most trusted charities in our community.  The volunteers have done their part.  And the participants in the Jail and Bail for Charity have put their reputations on the line to get arrested for charity.

Now it’s time to help out these jail birds and raise funds for three great charities.  No donation is too big or too small.

Now, let’s be honest.  Bill Daley definitely won the best mugshot.

And Bill Tallman looks like he can be the Godfather amongst this motley crew of Miami Springs do gooders.

Even our Parks and Recreation Director, Omar Luna, is guilty for caring for our community.

Personal Request

All right folks…I know there are some out there that would love to pay to keep yours truly in “jail.”  Maybe that’ll be the next charity event.  But seriously, ummm, I need your help to get out of jail.  Can you help bail me out?  You can remain anonymous.  Even a donation of just $1 will help pay for part of my bail?  Please…I can’t stay in jail much longer.
