Congratulations to Miami Springs’ own Bryan Avila for winning his race for Florida State Senator.
The Miami Herald had published an article stating there was “no good choice in the Florida District 39 race.” The voters overwhelmingly disagreed with The Herald with 70% of the electorate voting for Brian Avila.
As we had previously reported, Avila was born in Hialeah and graduated from Miami Springs Senior High. He achieved his AA from Miami-Dade before getting his Bachelor’s from (The U) University of Miami in 2006. Avila went on to get his Master’s Degree from FIU in 2010.
Avila was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2014 where he has served with distinction. In 2022, Bryan Avila ran uncontested for the Florida Senate seat to take over from another former Golden Hawk, Manny Diaz, Jr (who was appointed as the Florida Education Commissioner.)
Well, let’s look back at Bryan Avila and his commitment to our community and the State of Florida:
In 2019, Avila supported the City of Miami Springs along with then Senator, Manny Diaz, Jr. to bring in $1.6 Million for the Senior Center.
In 2021, Bryan Avila along with Manny Diaz, Jr. brought in $2.7 Million for the city of Miami Springs including Storm Water Drainage, Roadway Improvements, and Senior Center funding.
In 2022, Bryan Avila helped to secure $3.5 Million for Miami Springs and $1.765 Million for the Village of Virginia Gardens.

In 2023, Senator Avila and Representative Rizo shared their accomplishments with the City of Miami Springs.

I’ve had the pleasure to interact with Senator Avila from the very beginning of his career. I can tell you that he’s a family man who loves his God, country, family, and community.
We are blessed to have a wonderful person such as Bryan Avila serving us as both a member of the Miami Springs community and as our State Senator.
Congratulations to Senator Avila and his family on this great victory!
