Earlier today, Miami Springs Police along with the City of Miami’s SWAT team executed a search warrant at the 500 block of Falcon Avenue.  According to the Police Department, two individuals were taken into custody on drug related charges.

We initially got word of the incident when residents messaged us concerning possible gun shots.  Well, there were no gun shots.  Instead, it’s possible residents heard noises associated from the SWAT raid itself.  (Banging of the doors or possibly flash bangs?)

Ultimately, the Miami Springs Police along with support from Miami PD’s SWAT were able to execute the search warrant and take the two individuals into custody without much trouble.

As part of the plan to execute the warrant, officers were placed at strategic locations including alleyways and nearby streets.  That prompted justifiable concerns from neighbors a block away from the incident that, all of a sudden, see a lone man carrying a long gun without any indication the man was a police officer.  No police car.  No uniform.  Just an overweight male pacing back and forth with a gun.  Needless to say, this sight generated some calls to the police.

Fortunately, the warrant was executed quickly.  And by lunchtime, the block was calm and free of the police activity.

We want to thank the Miami Springs Police and the Miami Police Department for providing their assistance in successfully executing this search warrant.

Keep up the great work!
