An NBC 6 report is once again highlighting issues Miami Springs residents are having with the billing from Miami-Dade Water and Sewer.

Just like NBC 6, we’ve had several residents reach out to us about the unexpected increases in their water bills.  Customers have called us and complained about seeing their bill as much as 10 times larger than normal.

If you suspect your bill is inaccurate, call Miami-Dade Water and Sewer right away.  Don’t let the problem persist. Miami-Dade Water and Sewer is fully aware of the problem and appears to be willing to work with customers to fix the problem, but you have to act.  Don’t stay quiet and don’t accept an unexpectedly high bill without calling and questioning the increase.

You can also track your own usage by reading the numbers on your own meter and logging its usage compared to what’s being reported by Miami-Dade Water and Sewer.

We want to thank NBC 6 for taking the time to report on this issue affecting Miami Springs residents.

  1. I just had a problem. old meter #15401561
My water meter was changed yesterday, without our knowledge.
We had some murky water yesterday afternoon, July 2nd, 2024, and a strange sound out of a couple of pipes when we went to use the toilet and shower.
Today, July 3rd, 2024, I received an email about high water consumption, so immediately we went around the house to see if we detected a leak, upon us going to the water meter to shut off the water we found the leak, it was the new meter on the side going into our house.

When MDWS Dept. connected the new meter they messed up the threat on the plastic pipe of the new meter installed 7/2/2024 #96487731, reading 85.778.

I placed an emergency call to MDWS Dept. and thank goodness someone came out within a couple of hours to check on the problem.
He had to replace the new meter from yesterday July 2nd, 2024, as it was damaged by the person that installed it.
    New meter installed 7/03/2024 #96042486, reading 2.283
Now I will have to deal with MDWS so they can issue some kind of credit of the extra water usage for over a day, a problem caused by their employee.
