We can’t thank the staff and management at Milam’s Markets enough for all the hard work and effort they’ve put in restocking their shelves, creating special hours for the elderly, practicing social distancing, and doing everything they can to make shopping as pleasant as possible during this crisis.
Well, I’m pleased to share a couple of more items Milam’s Market is putting in place to ensure safety and improve the shopping experience.
EXPANDED STORE HOURS
Starting this Sunday, April 5th, Milam’s is expanding their store hours to open at 8am and close at 9pm every day. The new SENIOR SHOPPING HOURS will be from 7am – 8am on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Again, these new hours will begin on Sunday, April 5th.
PLEXIGLASS SNEEZE GUARDS
Milam’s is also installing sneeze guards to protect, both, employees and customers at the checkout aisles. The installations are expected to be complete by next week, if not sooner. (SIDE NOTE: Milam’s has informed us that the company that’s installing the sneeze guards normally does signs for movie theaters. Obviously, no one is going to the theaters. But this company is using their talents to help make us safer while keeping their employees gainfully employed. We love this story.)
PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING
Milam’s also wants to stress practicing social distancing. The checkout lanes are marked to give extra space between you and other shoppers. As noted above, they’re installing sneeze guards at the checkout aisles. Milam’s is also encouraging you to watch your space and keep a distance from other customers as you shop through their aisles.
We will get through this and life will eventually get back to normal. But we appreciate everyone’s efforts to stay safe during this incredibly unusual circumstance.
