It’s no secret that Oakwood Drive has been prone to flooding for years. Just look back to last November when Oakwood was flooded after a deluge of rain fell in Miami Springs.
Well, the City of Miami Springs announced that construction will finally begin on the Oakwood Drive and East Drive stormwater and roadway improvement project.
According to the City of Miami Springs, the Oakwood & East Drive Improvements will begin on Monday, February 12th. The project purportedly includes drainage enhancements in Stafford Park & East Drive shared path construction. The city expects intermittent East Drive sidewalk closures and a brief Stafford Park hiatus.
Missing from these plans are any mention of Forrest Drive (just a block away) which has had its share of flooding.
