Local News stations are reporting that two people were killed today and one person was seriously hurt along NW 36th Street and Curtiss Parkway at the edge of Miami Springs and Virginia Gardens after a fiery wreck that occurred around lunch time. Based on WPLG video, the primary accident involved two small sedans one of which seems to hit a van after the initial impact. (Scroll down and you’ll see video footage of the accident.)
The identities of the people involved in the accident have not yet been released. Miami Springs, Virginia Gardens, and Miami-Dade Police were at the scene.
Surveillance video captures the moment of impact courtesy of WPLG.
Based on the video provided by WPLG, you can see a small eastbound vehicle attempting to make a left turn to head north on Curtiss Parkway. That’s when another small westbound vehicle (which appears to have the green light in the video) clips the turning vehicle and spins it. The westbound vehicle with the green light appears to impact a southbound white van that’s stopped on Curtiss Parkway, waiting to make a right turn.
