COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM EST SUNDAY…
Cold Weather Advisory:Â Very cold wind chills as low as 21 expected.
Wind Advisory: northwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.
Freeze Warning: Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 31 expected, although more likely further inland than in Miami Springs / Virginia Gardens.

- IMPACTS…Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
Secure outdoor objects.
Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water.
Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly.
Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.
