The City of Miami Springs held its annual tree lighting ceremony Sunday night and it drew hundreds of residents for pictures with Santa and live Christmas performances.

The big draw was the free pictures with Santa at the Gazebo. There was a long line of residents waiting their turn to take their picture with old Saint Nick.

There were also live performances from various student groups on the Circle that entertained the crowd.

The other star was the new abominable snowman on Curtiss Parkway. There was a steady stream of families taking selfies with the snowman.

Miami Springs really shines during the holidays. Thanks to contributions by local civic groups like the Rotary Club and additions from the city itself, Miami Springs has expanded the Christmas displays to include lights along the entire Westward business district, Christmas Trees around the Circle, and new Christmas Trees along Curtiss Parkway.

This is just another reminder of how wonderful it is to raise a family in the beautiful community of Miami Springs, Florida.

God bless you all and Merry Christmas.
