Last week, the MSSH Aerospace Academy proudly hosted Mackayla Melendez, a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), and Michaela Gonzalez, an aspiring Student Pilot, as our first guest speakers of the year. Both Mackayla and Michaela have had the privilege of flying alongside our esteemed Academy Professor, Police Lt. Antonio Luis, who is also a CFI. Their stories showcased the limitless potential that women bring to the aerospace industry. This event served as a reminder of the need for more women in aviation and the critical role organizations like @WomenInAviation play in nurturing interest among young girls and women in aerospace careers. Mackayla and Michaela’s passion and dedication left a lasting impression on our students, motivating them to reach for the skies and pursue their dreams in this incredible field. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our inspiring guest speakers for sharing their aviation journeys and showing what’s possible in our amazing industry. Together, we continue to break barriers and pave the way for a more diverse and inclusive future in aviation.
