Playful Pets Prance Proudly at Pet Parade

At 11 am Sunday morning, the proud pup parents of Miami Springs arrived on the Circle with their beautiful dogs dressed for the runway.

Why?  Well it was Miami Springs’ inaugural Pet Parade at the River Cities Regatta.  And the turnout was great with dozens of dogs delighting the crowd.

Doggie Costumes

We loved the variety and creativity the pup parents had for their friendly canine family members.  From super heroes to villains to football fans, there were lots of fun costumes.

Above you’ll notice a mischievous mutt dressed as the Lord of Mischief himself, “Loki!” While below, this sassy sniffer was dressed like a belly dancer in a Shakira inspired getup.  The hips don’t lie.

We’re going to keep the following pooch’s parents confidential for impersonating a K-9 Police Officer.  Gotta admit, this K-9 had the personality to match.

Escape from Alacatraz?  This mean mongrel had just made a prison break and was still wearing its prison uniform.  Did anyone alert the Miami Springs Police Department?

No worries.  Batgirl was on the scene to make sure all of Gotham’s dastardly deadbeats were behaving.

Wonder Woman was also on hand to give some added girl power to the parade.

is it football season yet?  These two super fans just wanted to play with the pigskin.

As you can see, the pet parents went all out to dress up their dogs for this special day.

Which costume did you like best?

Dawg Gone Fun

Sunday’s pet parade was just a lot of Dawg Gone Fun.  And you didn’t even have to dress up your dog.  Just show up and show off your pooch.

I can’t contain the cuteness of the precious pups.

This dog’s dimples are just ridiculous.  So adorable.

Empire Boutique was representing Miami Springs with their “We Are Miami Springs” T-Shirts and their adorable dog.

I’m sure lots of Springs residents will read this story and wish they had joined the parade.  It was fun.  It was free.  And all the doggies took home a goodie bag.

Miami Springs loves its pets.  Our community is perfect with miles of pedestrian friendly walking paths, low traffic, and even a dog park.

Pet Parade

After gathering at the Similia Veterinary Tent on the Circle, the pets led their parents on a parade around the Circle, down Curtiss Parkway towards the incoming bridge, and finally a right hand turn towards the Similia Veterinary offices along Canal Street.  That’s where prizes were handed out to several pet parents.
