Former Miami Springs Police Sgt. Andres Quintanilla was sentenced to nine years in federal prison today by a U.S. judge according to a report published in the Miami Herald by Miami Springs reporter Theo Karantsalis.
Quintanilla had pleaded guilty for attempting to affect commerce by extortion under color of law as part of a plea deal earlier this summer.
