After having the game canceled on Thursday, the Hawks went at it on Friday against Miami High. The Golden Hawks scored first with a 62 yard pass for a touchdown. That put the Hawks up 6-0 after not getting the PAT.
Miami High rebounded and took the lead 7 – 6 in the 1st quarter.
Miami Springs had a tough defense with an interception and a fumble recovery stopping key drives by the Stingarees.
Nevertheless, Miami High took a 14 – 6 lead. Miami Springs came back down 8 points and scored a touchdown on a 4th and 4 play to bring the game to 12 – 14 in the 4th quarter.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. Final score: Miami Springs Senior High 12 – Miami High 20.
