The Miami Springs 4th of July Parade is the best, family friendly, small town parade in all of South Florida.  Thousands of residents and non-residents came to Miami Springs to participate and/or watch the family friendly parade.

We’ll get to the Wet Zone portion of the parade in a second, but before we do, let’s set the scene.  It was your typical, beautiful, sunny South Florida morning.  Hot, humid, and ready for a great parade.  (See over 660+ pictures of the parade.)

Before the parade got started, the folks at Springs Crossfit (on Westward Drive) were taking advantage of the closed roads to run a flag relay back and forth along Westward Drive while carrying the American Flag.  (See over 660+ pictures of the parade.)

Then at the end of the relay, the entire crew marched down Westward Drive, proudly carrying the American flag down the road.  It was a fun way to get the day going.   (See over 660+ pictures of the parade.)

To start the parade, the Miami Springs Police Department’s Motormen come through with lights and sirens.  It clears the way for the rest of the parade and lets everyone know the parade has started!  (See over 660+ pictures of the parade.)

Then, the Honor Guard marched through carrying “Old Glory”, the American flag along with the Florida state flag and the flag for the City of Miami Springs.  (See over 660+ pictures of the parade.)

Then it was time for the fun to begin…starting off with the lovely cheerleaders.

The Grand Marshalls for the parade were none other than Coach Drew and his wife, Ana drew.  The Drew family were perfect representatives to be the Grand Marshalls of the parade as they represent what we love most about Miami Springs:  Family and Community!

Then, it was time for the city officials and politicians to have their moment in the sun.  Literally.  The sun was cooking down on them as they were being paraded in convertible Ford Mustangs.  (See over 660+ pictures of the parade.)

Councilman Orlando Lamas represents seat III on the Miami Springs city council.  (See over 660+ pictures of the parade.)

Now, it was everybody else’s moment in the sun including this fun bunch from Crossbridge Church.

We loved seeing the Shriners in their classic Ford truck.  The Shriners are famous for their distinctive red fezzes and philanthropic work, the fraternity is devoted to fun, fellowship, and supporting Shriners Children’s, a network of pediatric specialty hospitals.

And a parade isn’t a parade if you don’t have drummers marching along.

After his big win in the World Cup, Lionel Messi made an appearance at the Miami Springs 4th of July Parade.  At least I think that’s Messi?  (See over 660+ pictures of the parade.)

What’s better than one honor guard?  Two honor guards.  This group of patriots proudly marched the stars and stripes down Westward Drive.
