Miami Springs Police arrested Gregory Sutton on charges of sex trafficking after a joint investigation with the State Attorney’s Office Human Trafficking Task Force.
According to the press release from the State Attorney’s Office, a 21 year old female victim moved out of the Keys and ended up staying at one of the affordable motels in Miami Springs on May 4th. She was allegedly recruited by 33 year old Gregory Sutton to work as a prostitute. According to the release, the victim was fearful of Sutton and provided him photos for Sutton to use to solicit clients.
Two days later, Sutton allegedly informed the victim that he would start recruiting clients that day. According to the release, the victim locked herself in her hotel room not wanting to participate in the transactions and called a friend. That friend called Miami Springs Police for help. MSPD partnered with the State Attorney’s Office Human Trafficking Task Force in a joint investigation that culminated in the arrest of Greg Sutton.
Sutton was charged with the following:
- 1 count- Human Trafficking
- 1 count – Unlawful use of a communications device
- 1 count – Possession of Cocaine
- 1 count – Possession of Controlled Substance
- 1 count – Possession of Hallucinogens
- 1 count – Attempt to derive support from proceeds of prostitution
- 1 count – Soliciting another to commit prostitution
- 1 count – Possession of drug paraphernalia
