According to local reports, Dezirea Joseph Gutierrez, a Miami Springs Senior High sophomore, is in critical condition after a New Year’s Day morning accident in Miami Lakes.
According to the reports, a car driven by 18 year old Jonathan Perez crashed into a lake in Miami Lakes. Inside the car were three male teens and one female, Dezirea Joseph. One of the teens, Christopher Leyva, is being hailed as a hero for diving back into the water to save Dezirea. Christopher, however, died giving up his life to save Dezirea.
